Thailand: Chiang Mai Thailand We were stopped, as I am with Tik in the hotel "Le Chalet Suit" (เลอ ชา เล ท์ have taken root สวี ท
[lɤ̄ ː ʨ ʰ ā ː le ː sawi ː t]
). Super Nice room, as I said, and the location was great: quiet, and the ubiquitous Thai 24-hour supermarket
" Seven Eleven / " same underneath. The only thing missing hangers.
The next day (day 137 ) have had enough sleep and we are after dinner in the famous zoo run by Chiang Mai in order to visit the pandas. Unfortunately, we were a bit late and have such a short hand to the zoo the next day moved. Instead, we are using Van on the top of Mount Doi Suthep (ดอย สุ เทพ [dɔ̄ ː j sùʔt ʰ ê ː p]
) issued, on which an eponymous temple
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
(วัด พระ ธาตุ ดอย สุ เทพ
[WAT p ʰ ráʔt ʰ â ː t dɔ̄ ː j sùʔt ʰ ê ː p] ) was - another attraction of the foreigners (to Thai:
farang , ฝรั่ง
[faran] ) Flooded city. The ride was bumpy, steep and long, Tik and I felt bad and it hurt the ears thanks to a combination of cold and fast in altitude
(like me one day in the aircraft times) . The next time you travel take chewing gum!
But the temple was great! Very large, a huge golden dome (Chedi), had many interesting things and captions in Thai and
Lanna - a traditional alphabet of
northern Thai language
(native speakers of these is as tip - and I have a lot of photos that I do not all wanted to upload to Flickr
, there's only the best. Above we saw then a celebrity for a: Which of the "Twins", a duo that looks something like
times in Thailand won the Super Star and now makes use of vocals on advertising to any dance. Hihi. So was very impressive, the whole thing.
was the evening's then on the
market in Chiang Mai , where we've fully beaten the bellies (Thai food is so sooooooo delicious!), I bought a Lanna-T-shirt and we then with a tuk- Tuk (รถ ตุ๊ก ตุ๊ก
[red tuktuk] ) are back to the hotel, because it's Tik was ill and she felt sick.
The next day was better. We went with one of these zweibänkigen minibuses to the zoo to look to us the pandas. Unfortunately, we were back late, because we are such Liesen and walk everywhere had to eat. The zoo there, unfortunately, precludes relatively early in the day. So we then had about 2 ½ hours to us to see the animals there. The zoo is really nice, though not as great as the Safari Park in Kunming
. Among others, there was also capybaras (
Capybara
), we see here
original and forgery
! Water buffalo, deer and tigers and giraffes and birds had them there as well. A sassy hippo
's was also on view, only for the pandas it was too late, which are already gone to bed at 17:00, unfortunately. But there was something else nice: elephant feeding and stroking! I have since turned a small video, which I hope lasts should watch and download
not too long :
funny way, was the price. While China is on the market or in the store like to get ripped off with exorbitant prices, most Thais are honest. But it may happen that the temple or zoo visits for foreigners like twice Costs. To avoid complaints from farangs, is the price usually written in Thai Thai - well, that Thai has its own character figure, how does this next picture: adult Thais pay 50 baht, Thai children 10 baht. As such things cost in Thailand, of course, less than in Germany, Essen, for example, usually under a €, entrance fees and the like usually so 1 to 2 euros, things in the supermarket are pretty cheap. But China is generally a cheaper country, as indeed I once had a written progress report . have been
But this should also have our time in beautiful Chiang Mai (really recommended!), because the tour went on. In the evening we checked out the hotel and took the bus to Lampang (ลำปาง
[lampa ː ŋ] ), in order a day or two with tip and Guy (who lived there now) to spend. In the next time around.
To be continued ...
