178 Tag: Geburtstag in China

P1000973 I recently had birthday, who would have thought it? On 10 February, as every year, incidentally. This time, for the first time in China and I've become the first 26th Since my birthday fell in the winter holidays, I could not invite all my friends here. But it worked anyway. Actually wanted to kill two people - namely, Mr. Inaba-san and the Koreans Laoshi Zheng - ahead of my birthday away, once on holiday to Thailand (Neid!) and the other home to South Korea. Therefore, we have combined my birthday party with the Zheng-Laoshi-away party and celebrated the same time: the Koreans in the great Korean restaurant called 아리랑 (Arirang) (see address!) .

P1000982 were invited by me just those two, of course, Amila, Karina (the Brazilian) and 陈 霄 (Chen Xiao) , the Chinese, with whom we met several times. This has brought a friend. The food was delicious and consisted of a kind of Korean hot pot, but not sharp, but with some seafood, and Mr. Inaba-san gave me even a little worried cake, which we then destroyed along with relish. there's a little gift from Chen Xiao, who gave me a small book of Chinese wisdom and some comic drawings . Karina wanted I also said to get something, we'll see. I see them ever so rare, because she lives abroad and studied in Chenggong - that's where we had at that time the sports festival. She complains, however, that they do not come out during the holidays and is pleased that the school / university to restart. I am also frankly.

Photobucket Tik I could invite unfortunately, since that day are still staying in Thailand and even now there still abides. Is difficult for both of us ... We phone but every day, and / or talk on Skype. It was fortunate that there are Internet telephony! And they really surprised me with a cake too! Velvet candle on top (On the image not visible) and Minnie Mouse as a decoration. Unfortunately, they had to eat the cake alone since I came here 1269 km away in the cold Kunming sit ... you can probably do anything. : /

Well ... otherwise there is nothing to report. The other day we were with 陆春华 (Lu Chunhua) alias "Eric" on Green Lake, then in Lotus Pond Park and have the evening meal by the fire pot in the alley behind our dorm again purely carved right. The lake offers a beautiful sight indeed in full moon, because the other day was it the end of the Spring Festival: the festival of lights. there's actually a few days Pops yet, but you hardly saw lanterns, except small paper with a light-emitting diode in it, tootle the melody.

Modern Wall Standards

Tag 166: Langweilige gähn Ferienzeit * *

Here I am again. Here to complain about my boring holiday season ... but actually it is less due to the time when more of myself that I'm just the absolute sloth and lust have to do. On the other hand, no one is here. It is a holiday ... and really all are at home in their lands, with the exception of a few.
here in the dorm there almost dead silence. Besides me, there's my roommate Amila, Sri Lanka, lives across the meantime (ie the Nangis are also back in Sri Lanka on vacation) Li Rui (also Sinhalese) san with Mr. Inaba, who after his premature return from Japan vorfand a Chinese living in his room and so unceremoniously shipped off to another room was. Furthermore, live at the back end still Ti (ตี๋ [tǐ ː] ) aka "Jesus" with his girlfriend (?) And somehow there is also Zhuzhu / Juju, a total of two or three Thais that I know less well, and Meanwhile, a Laotian (allegedly Jujus friend). On the second floor, according to eyewitness reports, the two still live Amilas Laotinnen very shy, we helped once to the Internet. There are Mr. Jeong (정), the Koreans. Otherwise dead trousers ... in the dormitories of the Chinese (I mentioned that boys and girls were strictly separate residences in house?), Which shall exceed 3 lights burning in the evening.
are also otherwise my Chinese friends all flown over the holidays, all with their families at home. Since you first noticed how few people are ever truly Kunming (Kunmingesen?).

IMAG0008 Oh, and holidays. A few days ago, on 3 Namely, in February, was the Spring Festival (春节, Chūnjié ), the Chinese New Year, announced large and representative of the transition to the year of the rabbit (nuff-nuff) that fell here, but also less spectacular than it has been reported to me from / to Beijing (北京, Běijīng ) (eg [info] oh_galore ). The Böllerei was limited, comparable to Germany, but more (extremely loud!) Flash as a rocket blast, and somehow only over a shorter period of time. Perhaps that is here in Kunming from everything a little calmer. At the time, were all in their families, so I've done virtually nothing. Amila and I were
But the next day with Mr. Jeong and Mr. Inaba-san in a Korean restaurant called Café You & I (카페 너와 나, Kape Neowa Na), to a very delicious dish whose name I do no longer (see right).

IMAG0009 yet what stupid for spring festival, for just under 2 weeks, most shops are closed. Something like WAL ★ MART or Carrefour has not openly, but many restaurants have closed, especially our beloved little shop behind the residence, ooooch. (In the
us across the street, the 圆 西路 (Yuánxī LU) , there's some stores, and the "Foreigner Street" (文林 街, Wenlin Jie ) has still some open shops and snack bars. From hunger (! One can not always eat Burmans bag noodles) have Amila and I went to a seemingly small Korean restaurant called Arirang (아리랑) in the 文 北 巷 (Wénběi-Xiang) - we always Foreigner Street were the real, but is only a side street! - Visited that looked much larger than the inside from the outside. The TARDIS effect? In any case, even the food there was super delicious, I ate an omelet with rice-vegetable-meat-and-ketchup-filling, which was fun. I could have fooled me! Does this not delicious, because the left? I could go there again! We also make the way after ... why, I tell in a few days.

P1000972 And we were some time ago in Bartu, a Turkish students from the same class, in his apartment in the 13th Stock . He had invited a few pals, including Lina, a Norwegian student, who we know well. This is now back at home, so it was also a kind of farewell party for them. There is another funny Halb-Türke/Halb-Deutscher was named Cem (pronounced "Djem"), who said very little German, and Bartus friend whom I recognized at first glance to be Russian did so by the make-up, clothes and hair bleached her. Naja, was quite funny, and later we went into a small bar in the entertainment district of Kunming (昆 都, Kundu ) home what the coordinates refer here to "Location", and quite late again. Yes, at 3 clock at night or something. Since both dormitory and campus are already closed. The former is not a problem because you can rumble to the window guards and make the people out alive, but complain, but never mind.
is difficult the way to the campus. Goes over the fence or over the wall. Young and athletic (huhhuh, huhhuh) how we have, and I Amila the wall quite quickly climbing and jumping overcome, for the mid-50s Mr. Inaba-san, it was somewhat difficult. It took a while, but finally it's has worked. Fun adventure to break into a cloak-and-dagger operation to campus! ^ ^

Oh, and I miss Thailand still ... especially Tik. But the great weather, nice people, delicious food and the beautiful landscape and the buildings on it. Mr. Inaba-san is flying to Bangkok tomorrow to make a holiday. Envy!
Was there anything else important? Well, some things about which I will report on any case yet:
1) The petition for non image of the German language in the constitution,
2) My purchase of a new Smartphone (HTC Desire )
3) My birthday (February 10), and the "celebration" (tonight)
4) The Thai language,
5) Opticians in China (for my dear sister). In each case I would like
write separately ... on another day.

Just like that I would again refer to my Flickr account where I upload photos ever since there's anything nice chronological order with brief descriptions and a special folder for my Thailand Photos for those who have not yet seen their fill at the Paradise.

Sav Shine Pokemon Gold

Thailand: Chachoengsao, Bangkok, Heimflug: (

And now the last part of my trip report from Thailand. Sad, sad ...
After we therefore adopted in writing by Mark, thanked him for his hospitality, because he just had in the university teaching, we took a bus to Chachoengsao (ฉะเชิงเทรา [ʨ ʰ ː àʨɤ̄ ŋsāw] ), home Tiks. Her parents live there, but because they are against the fact that Tik has before graduating from university with a friend, we were able to visit, of course. But first things first ...

P1000895 Arrived in BigC , a large shopping center, there seems to be in every Thai town, and I waited Tik for the arrival of Mhuey (ห มวย [mǔa̯j] ) and Noom (หนุ่ม [num] ). Meanwhile, I have not bought there a dictionary, but more on that later. The two were then and we found ourselves under a great hunger in a pizza shop. Pizza is also one of the dishes I've eaten no more forever, so I thought it was not too bad to eat sometimes no Thai food. We have beaten the full stomachs, for it was really tasty. Apparently not only Thai food in Thailand delicious. Restaurants and food stores are generally better in Thailand than in China, I think, much cleaner and somehow the quality of her high quality. But Asian food is generally great, as I prophesized so before my flight to China.

P1000899 After that we went out we have one last sight "pure pull," Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan (วัด โส ธร ว รา ราม วรวิหาร [WAT sǒ ː t ʰ ɔ̄ ː n wara ː ra ː m ː wóráwíhǎ n] ), a further great Buddhist temple in gold and white. Also inside was all decorated with gold and the ceiling formed a star firmament. Everything looked somehow very well maintained and rebuilt almost from even the Buddha statues . Somehow the whole well done to do with China, as in " backyard" of the temple was there a Chinese gate .
Afterwards went to the food, but after all that pizza I've hardly got something down. So I got the Thai version of Jiaozi-like dumplings (jiǎozi, 饺子 [ʨjãɔ̯ʦz̩] ) missed awwwww ...

P1000937 since around the day in principle and Tik at home with him was long overdue, they looked for me for the last night as possible cheap accommodation. Actually it was being considered to return to Noom and his brother in a residence hall in Bangkok, which was due to its distance to the airport a bit pointless. For 400 ฿ (about 9,50 €) the night we found a kind of small bungalow not far from the bus station. Then Tik is first to her parents with whom they could negotiate but thank God, still, the next morning, her "friends" to accompany even the airport in Bangkok. Meanwhile, I've Anki made, read, Thai TV seen (it was just Militärfesttag), showered and slept. Tik was a little creepy and Mhueys regard, the door to open definitely not if someone knocks. This is dangerous, could well be anyone else! The more frightened I was when it (is Thailand so civilized that it uses the 24-hour system, respect!) At approximately 20:00 in the evening knocked on my door. But it was the caring Tik, who brought me orange juice. How sweet!

The next morning at 6:00 then the road to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the second time we were there a lot of time and are therefore stroll eat and gone. Then, the farewell, even if it's only for a month is. Tik has not been able to stop crying ... :.. (
In the passenger area, as I passed an escalator, I saw on the ground then lie but suddenly money Chinese money 300 yuan (33 €, of which one can live a half weeks good), this number was, what a . at 10:55 local time luck went my flight directly to Kunming, arrival time. 2:05 pm (local time and the inconvenient 12-hour system) For the second time I got off the plane from Kunming, the track went to incredible unfriendly passport control and tore my suitcase off the line. Only this time really no tension and anticipation to the time in Kunming.

, one gets a shock when you flies from Thailand to China: it is icecold, people look grumpy and all the staff are extremely unfriendly. In Thailand, bows and Khop khun kha! (ขอบคุณ ค่า [k ʰ ɔ ː k ʰ p ʰ â ː k un] ) said. Dialogue with the passport control of the uniformed man? 什么 学校 - "Hm?" - "Which school?" - Quite a disappointment. Then, the old, gray and red dust soiled buildings that could be seen from the air already (though the photography of China is prohibited from above!), That and the fact that Tik in the beautiful, warm, friendly and modern Thailand bored, I was then also done quite sad.
I then looked for a taxi and leave me to the dorm. The taxi driver complained to me about how stupid it is as a taxi driver's job. The tuk-tuk driver and two bank in Thailand seemed to me in a good mood ...

Photobucket So that was it, yes yes. The planned route was quite different, but it was so much nicer and worth seeing. The picture right shows once again the stations of our journey, from Kunming to Xishuangbanna, Mohan, Ban Houayxay (ບ້ານຫ້ວຍ ຊາຍ [ba ː n hùa̯jsá ː j] ) - that was the Laotian equivalent of Chiang Khong where we are geschippert on the Mekong - the short detour to the Myanmar border to Mae Sai, the beautiful Chiang Mai, Lampang with the elephant, Mae Sot, Kamphaeng Phet, Chonburi and Chachoengsao and then the airport in Bangkok. Since I've seen almost the whole country except the south and the north-eastern Isan region (อิ สาน [ʔìsǎ ː n] ), in which one speaks a dialect of the Lao similar .

It is now nearly a week ago that I'm back here in Kunming, and I miss Thailand very , not only because of Tik. The weather, the people, the food (oooh, the food!), The scenery and the sights are just beautiful, Internet use is not restricted. There are birds and butterflies, in contrast to Kunming, where it unfortunately little birds are (where I like sparrows but that!) . It is no exaggeration wirlich almost a heavenly country. I am surprised not to see so many tourists come to Thailand every year and also a not small number of expats there even settle permanently. Laura said the other day, the poor Tik could not even go on vacation if it is to me, since all other Countries are less beautiful. As I've told the Tik, she has even agreed to. It certainly will not be the last time that I visit Thailand ...

How Muh Does Wonder Woman Weigh

Thailand: Chonburi

early at 3 or 4 clock in the morning we arrived in Bangkok, in Thai actually not is really Bangkok called, but Krung Thep (กรุงเทพฯ [Krunes t ʰ ê ː p] ), which stands for Krung Thep Maha's official name (กรุง เท เพ มหานคร [t ʰ ê ː p Krunes máhǎ ː nak ʰ ɔ̄ ː n] is) that is sending you only a short form for the full traditional name of the city, this is, hold fast to you,

Krung Thep Maha Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit
กรุงเทพมหานคร อมร รัตนโกสินทร์ ม หิน ท รา ยุทธ ยา Great Dilok Phop Nopparatrajathanee Burirom. Great place rich Palace. Amon Piman incarnate presence. Sak Ka Mrigadat Tiya Vishnu Prasit.
[krūŋ tʰêːp máhǎːnákʰɔ̄ːn ʔàmɔ̄ːn ráttànákōːsǐn máhǐntʰárāː jùttʰájāː máhǎːdìlók pʰóp nóppʰárát rāːʨʰátʰāːnīː bùrīːrōm ʔùdōmráʨʰáníwêːt máhǎːsàtʰǎːn ʔàmɔ̄ːn pʰímāːn ʔàwátāːn sàtʰìt sàkkàtʰáttìjáʔ wítsànúkām pràsìt]

the name before I actually learned by heart, that's not that difficult if you spend hours listening to the song, there is to it (see Current Music ). I'll send the mp3 on request. What we do there though? Tiks sister Taek further had, as they had to do in Bangkok which, Tik and I are a taxi to Suvarnabhumi airport - is spoken by the way, "Suwannaphum (สุวรรณภูมิ [sùwānnáp ʰ ū ː m] ), yes, Sanskrit names, words, and - texts are in Thai pretty messed up, the "Maha" is coming up really by महानगर mahānagara (city) - there to rebook my return flight ticket, the guy had ordered for me by phone in Lampang. That was there all really great and free, service is there a top priority. We had to rebook it, because I had to return home earlier than planned because Tiks mother wanted that Tik finally comes home, which fell on her on at all, rumzureisen on holiday with friends. Tsez, tsez, tsez ... The ticket costs 11 000 ฿ proud the way (over 260 €), and I would also have liked more, thanks remained Laos visa to me only 15 days in Thailand and as I said, Tik had then returned to their parents.

Then we went to a van to Chonburi (ชลบุรี [ʨ ʰ ː ōnbùrī] ), a port city near Bangkok. There, in the district of Sri Racha (ศรีราชา [si ː ra ː ʨ ʰ ā ː] ) namely Mark waited on us, more to this soon ...
except us in the van was still a single, middle-aged Frenchman who, in lack of knowledge of English was unable to keep up with the bus driver, he could not articulate where he wanted. I tried to help and found that my French (I's had at least 4 years in school) was almost rusted away. I can still help a little and hopefully the Lord has now found his hotel, too. Sacre Bleu!

P1000861 in Sri Racha, we were picked up by Mark , an older Australian who lives there already for 33 years and has a big house with the entire family. Unzufälligerweise Esperantist is the man, so I did namely Pasporta power - something like couch surfing for Esperanto speakers - had written weeks before. Therefore, we were able to return there for free for a few days in his estate and I have been almost half a year now finally, once again had the opportunity to talk with people in 3D Esperanto.
On the same day and I took a little trip Tik with the remote from Mark for pointing to the wheel put perhaps 1 km of coastline, but was not so nice. Later, a stroll through the market and the city, where it again good food (like this here , but especially this here ) gave the scoop there was but the next day:

P1000829 Since we are in fact to Pattaya (พัทยา [p ʰ ʰ Att Aja ː] ) run, a tourist resort area, also in Chonburi. There was even more beautiful to see the ocean, but it gets even better with a boat we are on a small island called Koh Larn Ko Lan (เกาะ ล้าน [kɔʔ lá ː n] ) down. Boat and island were full mainly Russian tourists, which I believe them to be correct embarrassing. Beer, Водка, loud music, make up a party and on top without lying around on the beach. Ugly. Tik I could not believe that I suited up (ie 3 kg makeup + diamond belts, purses and shoes) Russentussen do not find beautiful.

P1000835 Well. We found the beach a great range without a lot of foreign tourists, where the proportion of Thais was greater - the one recognizes the fact that they all go swimming with T-shirt. The water was very nice warm and clear, and it was fun waves. Tik is only after long persuasion, come into the water. Of course, with T-shirt. War will be very fun. We almost missed the last boat back to Pattaya, but we had to schedule more time. Pattaya itself, we are still running for some time, the amusement district. Bah, terrible ... Pubs, brothels, feeding tubes, souvenir shops and Thai massage centers, which needs just as the Touri, das meiste auf Russisch und Arabisch(!) beschriftet.

Zum einen hatten wir noch einen Koffer voller Bücher von Tiks Kumpel "Dream", zum anderen wollte ich unbedingt Tiks Uni – die Burapha-Universität (มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา [máhǎ ː wit ʰ Aja ː laj bu ː rap ʰ ā ː] ) - see who had a beautiful Campus , good food in dozens of snacks, ponds and palm trees and in all respects modern and clean looked. With the free campus shuttle bus we went to the Faculty of Education where all the Thais have studied Chinese in Kunming. Next to us sat two girls with whom we started a conversation, because they wondered why a Thai and farang because Chinese speak ... the question of which languages because I fluent spoke (beautifully made precise, very good!) answered, I just, well, German and English, fluent Chinese is not quite as ... and Esperanto. "You speak Esperanto?" said one then - I wanted to mention's certainly not because I wanted to avoid long explanations and misunderstandings, but the one girl, Tan (ตาล [ta ː n] ), had even sometimes learned Esperanto. At least for a day. She could at least "amas vin Wed. say. The two have subsequently invited to the cafeteria and we donated some orange juice. Cool!

in University Buildings we met two other friends of Tik, then Dream, then the mascot of the Faculty of Education and the state of Sinology . Yes, that was pretty cool ...

The next morning we then moved on, however, Marks has left home, and have taken the bus to our last stop, which I will report tomorrow. Stay tuned for the last part of my Thailand trip!

And sorry that this time there was so much text and so few pictures ...

To be continued ...

Good Slow Dance Songs To Play At A Juke Party

Thailand: Thailand

P1000784 After Guy and Tip us both to Kamphaeng Phet (กำแพงเพชร have [kamp ʰ ɛ̄ ː ŋ p ʰ ê ː t] carted) and then passed to Bangkok, so I can for the first time Tiks Do Family Members in 3D. We arrived late at night at their house, which now did not look really like the Lao wooden huts. It really reminded me rather of the large garden shed ("dacha") by friends of us. A sort of bungalow, not very big but not too small. A large living room television, radio, lamps, wardrobes and sofas. Next door, small bedrooms, a shower room and a toilet (Chinese style, though). Overall, the home of Grandma Tik, Tik aunt, whose Son, his wife and their two sons Phat (ภัทร [p ʰ at] ) and Phan (พัน ช์ [p ʰ ān] ). As is later turned out, is not only the house Tiks family but the whole street and another street: all people who live there are so distantly related to Tik. Unbelievable.
the same evening Tik actually drove me to the motorcycle to another house in the street to get something to drink.

P1000734 The next morning we took then Tiks cousin and his wife and their son Phat them in the hot spring park, so I call's time: Boname Phu Ron Phraruang (บ่อ น้ำพุ ร้อน พระร่วง [bɔ ː ná ː m p ʰ úʔ rɔ ː n p ʰ ráʔrû ː an] ) - a really beautiful park with a small temple, many meadows and flowers and trees and a creek and a pond, and also just a larger, shallow basin filled with warm spring water. It was very pleasant, we've got our legs all times kept clean. There is also a Lake with an island there, you could pedal boats for cheap money, and thus cross the lake, which we did. We then exchanged our respective cameras and so there's some duck boat-pics with me and Tik (of which I but only the left and that have uploaded here ) . Afterwards, we have fed us fish and then rested briefly at a shady spot . Hachja ...

P1000756 P1000762 Then we went to visit the "old town" . Below I've presented me something else entirely. We have all heard so the old cities of Leipzig and Bremen or Frankfurt, etc., but One might not 500 years old historical ruins in this form. You are now a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which is saying something. The building was all in the 15th and 16 Century, and King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) is said to have lived there for probably 100 years ago somehow (like, I'm not quite clear, that was previously in ruins, destroyed by the Burmans). By a group of four Buddha statues in four different positions was, unfortunately, only the standing figure obtained. The stone was used there by the way of lava and therefore it is so porous and hard. It was fortunate that I am not stumbled. A large round pan I've also been there, I just still need to link here. Really, the Acropolis in Athens, however, is a shit (though older):

P1000786 So really, I was blown away, although I have old stones and ruins for otherwise rather cold. Then we went to dinner or a buffet. That is in plain text: All you can eat , and everything was so so delicious, Wow! They even had pineapple. Per person cost which I believe only 100 Baht (บาท [ba ː t] ), which is slightly more than 2 €, so I invited the family. There were only "Young" people there, nor was added to a (another cousin) and his girlfriend, the (หมอ ย ห uh มวย [mǔa̯j] ) happens to be Mhuey said. We have eaten up just before vomiting ("Puke" is on the way Thai UAK , อวก [ʔu ː k] ;) ). Did I mention that Thai food is super delicious?

P1000793 The next day - yes, top it all happened in one day - had Tik after lunch in her aunt's small "restaurant" However, away visiting her grandfather at the other end of town where I could not keep up, unfortunately. Therefore, they made my made briefly in an "Internet Café" in the same street, which was populated by tons of little guys who played all the games online. Phat was there and I have spoken with him a bit of Thai. Later we went back to the house back. Then had Phat and Ao (one of the guys, even a distant 3rd cousin or something) shows the idea of me the pile of sand 100 m behind the house. That was fun, a huge mountain piled dry building sand, very pleasant to the feet. I am a little bit and I watched rumgestapft how the two shouting from the summit rushed. Communication (only in Thai) proved to be difficult and frustrating than I thought. I can be about 450 words (now a bit more) have, but - just as in Chinese too - difficult to understand. Ergo, they could understand me, I do but not as good. Once we were back home, I got myself out of sheer Huddeleien mit'm Nischler (as we say in Saxon) first withdrawn into the room and read and wait for Tik.

Tik came much later than planned, after dinner, and pretty much her first words were:

แอ น ด รู ป๊ะ you prepare your food! We go to Bangkok.
Aendru, pa! Nǐ zhǔnbèi nǐde dōngxi ba! Wǒmen kuài qù Màngǔ.
[ʔɛ̄ndū ː páʔ The reason was that older sister Tiks Taek (แต้ ก [tɛ ː k]
) just sneak into the city was and was in her car on the way to Bangkok. Their mother allowed Taek not actually go to such great distances by car. But his mother knows nothing of Tiks secret friend, even though the aunt or granny would have probably been on the phone before. They drove us to the bus station so after the coast was clear, came Taek rumgefahren and we jumped into it. Tik always says that her sister would be so much prettier than her, because she is so white, and Tik so "black", but I do not think at all times. Moreover, with no glasses Taek (In Thailand with the way almost any glasses, except King Bhumibol (ภูมิพล [p ʰ ū ː mip ʰ on] , the students hardly very different in China!).

We stopped briefly at the edge of the city, as Taek yet eaten had, and I also have me in spite of its fullness to the consumption of Thai delicacies (see here on the right) can persuade. In contrast to China's here at night to feed something else. Then they drove us the 321 km down night Bangkok. What we did there, then, that you experience tomorrow exclusively here with me.)

Patch Anti-freeze Soul Silver

Kamphaeng Phet: Lampang Mae sot &

Here is the third part of my trip to Thailand.
Guy, we have therefore to
Asia Lampang Hotel Lampang
(ลำปาง [lampa ː ŋ] ) brought the room for us looked surprisingly shabby. I have them but no picture. Very nice it was certainly not hot water and gave it one either. More Chinese standards also (although all water heaters in Thailand, although partly in Germany and England are not produced at our Mega boiler came up here in Kunming, even if after half an hour ago is the first time any showers). Cost: 490 ฿ (-12 €) per noctem. For two nights, but enough is enough, we thought. We are always on the road during the day and evening breaks.

breakfast (for those who look at themselves like Asian food, click here!) gave it the next morning (we write the
day 139
) in a small restaurant in the area, as we had missed the hotel breakfast . At 10 clock then meeting with Guy and Tip and our request, but we continue to prefer a different hotel. So off went 's Hotel Kim City , which represented only slightly more money for a great luxury. 650 ฿'s goods? 'm Not sure, at least a good choice. After moving then equal to the first attraction in Lampang, the hometown of Tip:

Wat Phra That Lampang Luang (วัด พระ ธาตุ ลำปาง หลวง P1000623 [WAT p ʰ ráʔt ʰ â ː t lampa ː ŋ lǔaŋ] ) P1000629, a large temple in the northern Thai Lanna style , with very few tourists (almost none, as Lampang now is not just a tourist destination) and a beautiful facility. Left here for a change, Guy & tip front entrance. Inside it was another great golden dome (Chedi) Some Buddha statues, one had to take off their shoes before entering and also trees Gong s and there was no shortage. Labels were mainly in Thai, but partly also to Lanna. Next door was a museum, were issued in the ancient Lanna documents, old Southeast Asian money and ancient artifacts. All in all, nice to see. The temple was built according to a sign apparently between the years 2019 and 2045 ... Thai calendar. ;) The next stop took us to the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre
a bit outside the city where we were, for show unfortunately late. But could we have a round on the elephant ride
(see left) . That's pretty funny because it's not like a horse (I imagine), up slightly down and wobbles, but still pretty strong left and right, because of the strong shoulders. Was certainly very funny P1000649 here is a picture of Tik and me (maybe Facebook is being mainly required) . After the elephants had finished their rounds, there was an option a photo of the "couple" on the elephants, including the mahout. That there was then for not too much money in thick Elefantenkotpapier [sic] framed. Have I taken the same course as a souvenir. Since we missed the show imaginary we come back the next day. The fact should be well worth seeing ... Then Guy took us up to a huge milestone, perhaps to the 10 m, which indicated the distances to towns and cities in Thailand and Southeast Asia, here in the picture (click to enlarge!)
as from top to bottom: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Chiang Tung, Chiang Thong (Luang Phra Bang) and Chiang Rung (Sipsongpanna (aka Xishuangbanna)). In the markets there was now everywhere in the small. For coffee there was then a specialty coffee
Wiesel. Is in fact from undigested faeces of stoats, before the coffee beans have got to eat, won and is relatively expensive. I myself had an Oreo milkshake, but I once tried to weasel coffee P1000674 Guys - disgusting! Nothing against weasel shit, but coffee? Wüärks. But there was something tasty in the evening . According to a breakfast at the hotel Tik and I returned to Guy and tip down the elephant center for us to look at the show. That was really cool and I've taken some pictures and uploaded. The elephants are marching
, have laid
, the mahouts their hats P1000695 (or their Mahüten Houts?) And Where poles, tree trunks carried around and eventually rolled and painted pictures . Amazing animals. In the center may be left over for 3 days and trained as a mahout join. And you could pet and feed the elephants behind too, especially the little was cute, right here together with the - I think - no less cute Tik: After the show went on the trip, first in the province of Tak (ตาก [ta ː k]
) in the town of Mae Sot (แม่สอด
[mɛ sɔ ː ː t] ), Which - as Mae Sai also - is near the Myanmar border. There we strolled a bit through the streets, which have eaten, I've erschüttelt in another Buddhist temple in the future. Oh, that's the way this: there is a cup with wooden sticks, which one takes with both hands slightly in front of him shakes, with the cup opening angle of about 20 ° from the plane shows up. Soon drops out a bar, reading the numbers, then finds a note in the compartment next to the shrine P1000710 . There are then similar to a horoscope interesting things. I was prophesized that I should watch my words and my big mouth that I sometimes could be fatal. Hmm ... I think not quite fit me. Now I realize degree that the other was indeed in a temple. This here was the prophecy for me unfortunately incomprehensible. After this guy went Tik and me then to Kamphaeng Phet (กำแพงเพชร [kamp ʰ ɛ̄ ː ŋ p ʰ ê ː t] ) to the home of relatives Tiks where we would spend the next few days.

Pagan Stories In Quran

Thailand: Chiang Mai Thailand

We were stopped, as I am with Tik in the hotel "Le Chalet Suit" (เลอ ชา เล ท์ have taken root สวี ท
[lɤ̄ ː ʨ ʰ ā ː le ː sawi ː t]
). Super Nice room, as I said, and the location was great: quiet, and the ubiquitous Thai 24-hour supermarket
" Seven Eleven / "
same underneath. The only thing missing hangers. The next day (day 137 ) have had enough sleep and we are after dinner in the famous zoo run by Chiang Mai in order to visit the pandas. Unfortunately, we were a bit late and have such a short hand to the zoo the next day moved.
Instead, we are using Van on the top of Mount Doi Suthep (ดอย สุ เทพ [dɔ̄ ː j sùʔt ʰ ê ː p]
) issued, on which an eponymous temple
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep (วัด พระ ธาตุ ดอย สุ เทพ P1000563 [WAT p ʰ ráʔt ʰ â ː t dɔ̄ ː j sùʔt ʰ ê ː p] ) was - another attraction of the foreigners (to Thai: farang , ฝรั่ง [faran] ) Flooded city. The ride was bumpy, steep and long, Tik and I felt bad and it hurt the ears thanks to a combination of cold and fast in altitude (like me one day in the aircraft times) . The next time you travel take chewing gum! But the temple was great! Very large, a huge golden dome (Chedi), had many interesting things and captions in Thai and Lanna - a traditional alphabet of
northern Thai language (native speakers of these is as tip - and I have a lot of photos that I do not all wanted to upload to Flickr P1000552 , there's only the best. Above we saw then a celebrity for a: Which of the "Twins", a duo that looks something like times in Thailand won the Super Star and now makes use of vocals on advertising to any dance. Hihi. So was very impressive, the whole thing. was the evening's then on the market in Chiang Mai , where we've fully beaten the bellies (Thai food is so sooooooo delicious!), I bought a Lanna-T-shirt and we then with a tuk- Tuk (รถ ตุ๊ก ตุ๊ก [red tuktuk] ) are back to the hotel, because it's Tik was ill and she felt sick.

The next day was better. We went with one of these zweibänkigen minibuses to the zoo to look to us the pandas. Unfortunately, we were back late, because we are such Liesen and walk everywhere had to eat. The zoo there, unfortunately, precludes relatively early in the day. So we then had about 2 ½ hours to us to see the animals there. The zoo is really nice, though not as great as the Safari Park in Kunming
. Among others, there was also capybaras (
Capybara ), we see here P1000588 original and forgery ! Water buffalo, deer and tigers and giraffes and birds had them there as well. A sassy hippo 's was also on view, only for the pandas it was too late, which are already gone to bed at 17:00, unfortunately. But there was something else nice: elephant feeding and stroking! I have since turned a small video, which I hope lasts should watch and download not too long :

funny way, was the price. While China is on the market or in the store like to get ripped off with exorbitant prices, most Thais are honest. But it may happen that the temple or zoo visits for foreigners like twice Costs. To avoid complaints from farangs, is the price usually written in Thai Thai - well, that Thai has its own character figure, how does this next picture: adult Thais pay 50 baht, Thai children 10 baht. As such things cost in Thailand, of course, less than in Germany, Essen, for example, usually under a €, entrance fees and the like usually so 1 to 2 euros, things in the supermarket are pretty cheap. But China is generally a cheaper country, as indeed I once had a written progress report

. have been
But this should also have our time in beautiful Chiang Mai (really recommended!), because the tour went on. In the evening we checked out the hotel and took the bus to Lampang (ลำปาง P1000535 [lampa ː ŋ] ), in order a day or two with tip and Guy (who lived there now) to spend. In the next time around.

Car Battery Hooked In Series

: Kunming , Xishuangbanna, Mohan, Chiang Khong, Mae Sai

I'm back from the super nice

(!) Thailand, after a nearly two-week vacation with Tik. Today is day 148
, but because Thailand is so exciting and worth telling and I have made over 400 photos, I shall divide my report, for the benefit of all. I should mention that the destinations are fairly stated by my last time itinerary
distinguished. So I begin the exciting journey from Kunming to Thailand ... It started on 7 January (day 135) with a taxi from our hostel here in Kunming (昆明 [k ʰ únmǐŋ]
) to the bus station in the east of the city. With the party were out of me as only used Tik (ติ๊ก
[tics] ) and her friend Foam (โฟม P1000467 [for ː m] ). The weather was surprisingly sunny and warm and I thought for fun, since we would not even to Thailand. There, we met with four other Thais in Yunnan Normal University, friends of Foam: Bow (โบว์ [bo ː] ), Tai (ต่า ย [ta ː j] ), Boat (โบ๊ ท [bo ː t] ) and Pet (เป็ด [pet] ). We waited there, ate and then mounted the coach: a Sleeper (pictured right) , something I knew not yet: in three rows and two planes were there close but comfortable beds, a metal grid structure held a dependent on falling out and allowed to climb to the beds. Shoes had to move out before. Each had a Location and hand baggage and the shoes you got in somehow. It was really very close and musty. For this kind of funny. The bus seemed to be populated for the most part, however, two Chileans were on board with the Chinese, Thais and Laotians. Towards evening, went off, leaving ... came the next morning at 8:30 we Xīshuāngbǎnnà (西双版纳 [ɕíʂwáŋpãnnâ]
;
Note: The tilde does not represent nasalization, but a falling-rising tone !) In the south of Yunnan Province (云南 P1000477 [jy̌nnǎn] ) and then went right up to the Sino-Laotian border in Mohan (磨憨 [mɔ̌xán] ) and Bohan (ບໍ່ ຫານ [bɔ hǎ ː ː n] ), where our passports were checked and serviced short. The two Chileans had some problems since they could neither Chinese nor Thai nor Lao, but English. So I've helped them a bit. Unfortunately, they were also not quite clear where they would go now ... naja. Next we took a minibus to get us seven half a kilometer further to the right border crossing visas. The Thais do not need someone who can simply durch Laos durch. 3 Stunden would have done but also's. Then we went for the seven of us with a van (in Chinese funnily 面包车 miànbāochē = "bread car") through Laos. Laos seems to be really poor, at least we have only tiny village of wooden huts with crumbling
seen. Tik said to me, the house of her grandmother would look so out of ... uff da na. In a small, overpriced Essschuppen
on stream flow P1000496 Nam Fa (ນ້ໍາ ຟ້າ [nâ ː m for ː] ) went on the trip then. Three or four hours later we arrived at the Lao-Thai Border town (as is the only?) , and with a small paddle boat to seventh with our luggage on the Mekong River (Lao: ແມ່ນ້ໍາຂອງ [mɛ ː nâ ː m k ʰ ɔ̌ ː ŋ] ; Thai: แม่น้ำ โขง [mɛ ː ná ː m k ʰ ǒ ː ŋ] ) geschippert (see right) and then arrived in the Promised Land. After we had welcomed the parents of Foam and our luggage taken away from the shore, someone called me from behind: Andrew! - it was tip (ทิป [T ʰ ip]), Guy's girlfriend, with whom we wanted to meet. They had also just arrived by car. Another passport control there in Chiang Khong (เชียงของ [ʨ ʰ ī ː ə̯ŋ k ʰ ɔ̌ ː ŋ] ; Note: / k ʰ / is in Thai and Lao almost always as [x] spoken ), the departure of the other Thais, and then Tik and I went (oops, there, in Thailand so left!) with Guy and tip in the car with. Guy drove us for the evening to Mae Sai (แม่สาย [mɛ ː sǎːj] ), einer Kleinstadt an der
thailändisch-burmesischen Grenze
;) Dann fuhr uns Guy nach Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่ [ʨʰīːə̯ŋ màj] ), suchte für us - because he seems to really know about everywhere in Thailand perfectly - a cheap hotel, totally beautiful drum with all the trimmings, each for 800 ฿ (about 19 €) night. The next morning we were supposed to meet four of us again ...

Shortwishing Well Sayings

Tag 134: Tag 134: Neujahr, Friseur & Reisepläne

New Year
It is the 6th January 2011 and New Year I have survived without prejudice: but not surprising. It is in fact nothing was going on. Nothing, absolutely nothing. In China, apparently no one celebrates New Year's Eve. It's funny that invented the country where the black powder and is famous for firecrackers on New Year's Eve not heard a single blast was. As if it were an x-any evening in April. Somehow bad ... for it - so I was several pages, the word "war zone" reported use - is to leave here for the Spring Festival the right post. Well let's see ... This year is the Spring Festival on the 3rd February, when I'm not mistaken. celebrated New Year's so I'm just as Christmas
've only briefly with Tik & Mhuey exchanged New Year greetings. There is to this "event" did no photographic evidence (of which even?), Left here a photo that has taken my sister at home in Leipzig. Directly behind our house. Is not it beautiful? :) Photobucket
Hairdressers

since I was in China I'm still not at the hairdresser, but my hair is naturally also getting longer. I usually go only when they are really annoying and I always hang out in the face. Just like this time What is more, I have not taken a really trust the Chinese hairdressing and there was so skeptical. In our favorite eating mile, 圆 西路 (Yuánxīlù) , there's also three barber shops, all strangely served by men (but seems to be quite normal in China). I've got a showing, say, as I wanted to have it (Containing only shorter, and the sides a little less), feared and hoped. Without glasses, I also do not see, what do the people there with me. Otherwise, the procedure was quite similar as well as at home: wash in front, then cut. Surprisingly, then wash again, and then blow-dry. About the result I was surprised it looked good, better than I's get in Germany so far, the time was about the same (just a little longer by further washing), the price: 12 € I paid in Leipzig usually including student discount. Here in Kunming's were 10 ¥ (equivalent to € 1.15), less than a tenth. Wow! I think it would have can be a bit shorter, but with the result (see left) I am very satisfied. Tik and Mhuey that matter. :)
P1000453 travel plans
And now the big surprise ...
I'm going to Thailand!

... and indeed tomorrow. With Tik. :) The plan is as follows: Tik and I are going tomorrow afternoon / evening from Kunming wrong with a coach, along with another Thai woman called from here Foam (who calls his child "foam") and their 4? Friends of the Nachbaruni. This is a sleeping bus because the ride will last about 12 hours, This is very cheap but: I paid 306 yen (about 35 €). The stations of the journey will be whole:

1) 昆明 (Kunming)
: Click here 's going on at 18:00, with the Sleeper. This seems generally to be a rather ordinary long-distance transport in Southeast Asia and China. The journey takes about 12 hours to ... Photobucket 2) 西双版纳 (Xīshuāngbǎnná) : arrival date tomorrow morning at 6:00, for instance, there is a friend of Foam invited and at the border to buy me the visa for Laos. For Thailand, you do not need (it gets a hot Stamp in the passport and is good '), but even for Laos. This costs about $ 40, I have exchanged a while ago from Tip (Guys girlfriend)).
3) ຫລວງ ນໍ້າທາ (Luang Namtha) : I think through this Lao town it goes through, and then just take the bus to Thailand. The roads will probably be very rich serpentine, Guy has already warned me. Bad I need a Laosvisum, because even though I only travel ... Laos is, after all the guilt that it must lie precisely between Thailand and China!
4) เชียงราย (Chiang Rai) : first stop in Thailand: here, met with Guy and tip, and possibly a bit rumgefahren. Where, we are not as clear ... Let's see the two coming by car. :)
5) เชียงใหม่ (Chiang Mai) : Tik and I might stay there for 3 or 4 days, there it is ment to be very pretty, scenic, there is also a zoo with pandas. Oh, and located in northern Thailand, and that figure will probably still 30 ° C and more to be there. Uff ... Sunburn in January!
6) กำแพงเพชร (Kamphaeng Phet) : grandma lives there Tiks mother's side, yet also her aunt and several other family members. It should be possible to live there for several days. Tik but says there's is pretty boring because Kamphaeng Phet is a 100,000-strong village level. Supposedly can drive motorcycle but Tik - The yearning I want! : D
7) ชลบุรี (Chonburi) : is where the
University of Tik, Mhuey and pretty much all other Thais here. In addition, there lives one of the few Esperanto speakers in Thailand, which are Pasporta Servo mentioned - I have requested; it works: we can live there for 2, 3 days in his house. The man himself, Mark S., Australian, Thai and has a house with his wife, their son and a few others. Chonburi is the way to the sea. I will take lots of photos. *-* 8) กรุงเทพฯ (Krung Thep) : better known as the Bangkok
(and yes, I'm just starting the full name by heart), the capital of Thailand!. Here I'll 1, 2 or 3 days to spend without Tik, which goes to her parents in Chachoengsao. But that is not bad because there Mhuey, Noom and his brother Nuke (Thai nickname, well ...) live. I can probably stay there in the next room of the latter two, to just watch them and let it show Bangkok. Eventually, 20 probably as to the January creating all around me (including statistics) to the airport and put me back in the plane to Kunming, the cost would probably almost 2200 yuan proud ... uff. Well. Sun described briefly. I do not know how it looks like this in Thailand with the Internet, but I hope that I one probably. from each city (except for the first few) a record will be able to write (I think less). Mhuey is actually already in Thailand, describing the climate there as "damn hot" (ร้อน ฉิบหาย, spr.: [rɔ̀ːn ʨʰìp hǎːj]</a>). Na da... :)
