I recently had birthday, who would have thought it? On 10 February, as every year, incidentally. So that was it, yes yes. The planned route was quite different, but it was so much nicer and worth seeing. The picture right shows once again the stations of our journey, from Kunming to Xishuangbanna, Mohan, Ban Houayxay (ບ້ານຫ້ວຍ ຊາຍ [ba ː n hùa̯jsá ː j] ) - that was the Laotian equivalent of Chiang Khong where we are geschippert on the Mekong - the short detour to the Myanmar border to Mae Sai, the beautiful Chiang Mai, Lampang with the elephant, Mae Sot, Kamphaeng Phet, Chonburi and Chachoengsao and then the airport in Bangkok. Since I've seen almost the whole country except the south and the north-eastern Isan region (อิ สาน [ʔìsǎ ː n] ), in which one speaks a dialect of the Lao similar . 
in Sri Racha, we were picked up by Mark , an older Australian who lives there already for 33 years and has a big house with the entire family. Unzufälligerweise Esperantist is the man, so I did namely Pasporta power - something like couch surfing for Esperanto speakers - had written weeks before. Der nächste Tag dann: Stadtbesuch. Zum einen hatten wir noch einen Koffer voller Bücher von Tiks Kumpel "Dream", zum anderen wollte ich unbedingt Tiks Uni – die Burapha-Universität (มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา [máhǎ ː wit ʰ Aja ː laj bu ː rap ʰ ā ː] ) - see who had a beautiful Campus , good food in dozens of snacks, ponds and palm trees and in all respects modern and clean looked. With the free campus shuttle bus we went to the Faculty of Education where all the Thais have studied Chinese in Kunming. Next to us sat two girls with whom we started a conversation, because they wondered why a Thai and farang because Chinese speak ... the question of which languages because I fluent spoke (beautifully made precise, very good!) answered, I just, well, German and English, fluent Chinese is not quite as ... and Esperanto. "You speak Esperanto?" said one then - I wanted to mention's certainly not because I wanted to avoid long explanations and misunderstandings, but the one girl, Tan (ตาล [ta ː n] ), had even sometimes learned Esperanto. The next morning we took then Tiks cousin and his wife and their son Phat them in the hot spring park, so I call's time: Boname Phu Ron Phraruang (บ่อ น้ำพุ ร้อน พระร่วง [bɔ ː ná ː m p ʰ úʔ rɔ ː n p ʰ ráʔrû ː an] ) - a really beautiful park with a small temple, many meadows and flowers and trees and a creek and a pond, and also just a larger, shallow basin filled with warm spring water. It was very pleasant, we've got our legs all times kept clean. There is also a Lake with an island there, you could pedal boats for cheap money, and thus cross the lake, which we did. We then exchanged our respective cameras and so there's some duck boat-pics with me and Tik (of which I but only the left and that have uploaded here ) . Afterwards, we have fed us fish and then rested briefly at a shady spot . Hachja ... 
Then we went to visit the "old town" . Below I've presented me something else entirely. We have all heard so the old cities of Leipzig and Bremen or Frankfurt, etc., but One might not 500 years old historical ruins in this form. You are now a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which is saying something. The building was all in the 15th and 16 Century, and King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) is said to have lived there for probably 100 years ago somehow (like, I'm not quite clear, that was previously in ruins, destroyed by the Burmans). By a group of four Buddha statues in four different positions was, unfortunately, only the standing figure obtained. The next day - yes, top it all happened in one day - had Tik after lunch in her aunt's small "restaurant" However, away visiting her grandfather at the other end of town where I could not keep up, unfortunately. , a large temple in the northern Thai Lanna style , with very few tourists (almost none, as Lampang now is not just a tourist destination) and a beautiful facility. Left here for a change, Guy & tip front entrance. Inside it was another great golden dome (Chedi) Some Buddha statues, one had to take off their shoes before entering and also trees Gong s and there was no shortage. Labels were mainly in Thai, but partly also to Lanna. Next door was a museum, were issued in the ancient Lanna documents, old Southeast Asian money and ancient artifacts. All in all, nice to see. The temple was built according to a sign apparently between the years 2019 and 2045 ... Thai calendar. ;) The next stop took us to the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre

After the elephants had finished their rounds, there was an option a photo of the "couple" on the elephants, including the mahout. That there was then for not too much money in thick Elefantenkotpapier [sic] framed. Have I taken the same course as a souvenir. Since we missed the show imaginary we come back the next day. Ich kam außerdem wieder mit den Chilenern ins Gespräch und obendrein mit zwei Schweizern (einer davon hieß Urs), die gerade auf Weltreise waren, mit ihrem Auto. Nach vielleicht einer Stunde oder mehr hatte dann auch ich meine Stempel im Pass, die mir 30 Tage in Laos ermöglichten. 3 Stunden would have done but also's. Then we went for the seven of us with a van (in Chinese funnily 面包车 miànbāochē = "bread car") through Laos. Laos seems to be really poor, at least we have only tiny village of wooden huts with crumbling 
Nam Fa (ນ້ໍາ ຟ້າ [nâ ː m for ː] ) went on the trip then. Three or four hours later we arrived at the Lao-Thai Border town
